The family is the basic unit of ‘man as a social being’. This ‘social’ being, is what Aristotle called the Zoon Politikon. All works of philosophy, cultural works, or works of spirituality that separate man from his context with other beings and make him into a one-sided theoretical or academic abstraction, are becoming rapidly valueless. The phenomenon of academic inflation (See Sir Ken Robinson) is proof of that.
